What a joy it is to watch my children grow up in the very same childhood that shaped mine. ❤️
There is something so special about growing up at the motel. Days are spent barefoot in the sand, running from one game to the next, making memories that last a lifetime, and staying outside until it’s finally time to wash up and head to bed. I love knowing my girls will experience the same magic of summer that I did.
One of the most unique parts of this life is the friendships. Every week, new families arrive, bringing new faces, new adventures, and new best friends. It’s amazing how quickly children connect, laughing and playing as if they’ve known each other forever.
But then checkout day comes.
At four years old, it’s hard to understand why someone who became such a big part of your world has to leave. The goodbyes are real, the tears are genuine, and as a parent, it’s one of the hardest lessons to help them navigate.
I remind my girls that while these friendships may feel short today, they’ll grow up together summer after summer, collecting the same memories we did. Before they know it, they’ll recognize familiar faces pulling into the parking lot, picking up right where they left off, just like we always have.
And maybe one day, they’ll be watching their own children experience these same bittersweet goodbyes, sharing the same stories and making the same lifelong summer friendships here at the VIP.
What a beautiful gift it is to call this place home. The goodbyes never get easier, but they make the reunions that much sweeter. ❤️
