One of our favorite fall trips from the inn is a Saturday morning at Yorktown's riverfront. This weekend, October 10 and 11, Yorktown Market Days hosts its Fall Festival at Riverwalk Landing with 40+ vendors selling pumpkins, mums, kettle corn, caramel apples, and fall art. There's also a hay maze and a petting zoo for kids. This is still one of the easiest fall outings near Williamsburg.

October in Williamsburg starts with art on Duke of Gloucester Street. An Occasion for the Arts returns this weekend, October 3 and 4, featuring 150+ artists, live local music, food, and hands-on art workshops. It is free to attend.

Our guests like to spend the morning browsing the booths, grab lunch in town, and come back to the inn for a quiet afternoon in the garden. William & Mary's Homecoming & Reunion Weekend will be October 22 - 25 this year, marking 100 years of Homecoming at the college.

Classes celebrating 5 through 45 years since graduation are back. For alumni weighing a return, the practical advice never changes. Book lodging before you finalize anything else. Williamsburg has a fixed number of rooms, and this weekend uses all of them.
