Did you know each of our guest rooms are named after famous guests that have stayed with us?

Little Jimmy Dickens
1920-2015

Standing at just 4'11", Little Jimmy Dickens was known for his country music and funny songs; however, you cannot forget the rhinestone-studded outfits. A native of Bolt, West Virginia, Dickens began his career by starring on the radio station in Beckley while attending WVU. He became the first country artist to circle the globe in 1964. In 1983, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and in 2009, he became the oldest member in the Grand Ole Opry at age 90.

Did you know each of our guest rooms are named after famous guests that have stayed with us?

Alfred "Lash" LaRue
(1917-1996)

Noted as one of the main inspirations for Indiana Jones, Lash LaRue was a popular star in the western motion picture scene. He was given the name "Lash" because of his bullwhip used in his western career. His appearance as the "Cheyenne Kid" set the path for his acting career going forward. However, LaRue was not like the other cowboys because he dressed in all black, with a "tough, city-guy" attitude. He often returned to his home state of Louisiana to perform in jam sessions. LaRue was one of the first recipients of the Golden Boots Award in 1983.
