Remember the Mom and Pop restaurants that were in every town?
Well, we still have 'em here in eastern North Carolina. A few have closed since I did this video but many are still here and they're worth a trip.
At El's Drive-In In Morehead City, the car hops have to step around the seagulls who were waiting for a tidbit.

I just can't say no to these wonderful strawberries.I have eaten 10 gallons with a few given to my B.And b guests. But mostly , I have eaten them period I will be so sad when they're gone

It is strawberry picking time in eastern North Carolina. We have you pick places near us , and of course if you want them picked, we have that too . Pick, weigh, and take home quarts (or gallons!) of the freshest berries you’ll ever taste. Then the fun begins - will it be homemade strawberry jam, warm strawberry bread, or a frosty smoothie on the porch?
