I am sorry, dear God
For sins I've committed,
For facts I've distorted
Or those that I've omitted.

Apologize never will silence the cries
Of babies or Mothers or real Human lives.
Men make the victims,not Jesus Christ.
God sent His Son here; and then came the lies.

God walked the Earth before Pilgrims arrived.
The Indians praised God as they lived and they died.
Are these just footnotes in some mythical tale
Or did Jesus give His life
For The White Privledged Male?

Tired of Waiting

I’ve become tired of waiting,
I wish God would simply reveal
Exactly what He expects of me
Or how I’m supposed to feel.

I am subject to varied emotions,
Buffeted by wind and storm;
Broken and battered, I have recovered
But still no convictions have formed.

I am confused with a fear that’s infused,
Fear based in unconscious need;
Faith is a holy grail glimpsed on occasion
Yet often a mere mustard seed.

Even though tiny, I might be grand,
Possibly fashioned by My Father’s hand;
This Universe is beyond my control
But I’m part of the puzzle that makes up the whole.

I’ve become weary of waiting,
Perhaps now is the time to try action;
Meaning and purpose are found in my motives
And kind acts hold true satisfaction.

Civil Confusion

Who is “Mister Government”
And can you tell me where he went?
I need to have a word or two
About some things I’ve seen him do.

I saw him in Tiananmen,
I’m pretty sure I think
Among the surging, killing fields
But then I must have blinked.

Rumors say that in Cuba
There’s a man who was so bad
That an agent put a powder in his shoes
And made him extremely mad.

“My government will crush you filthy capitalists!!”
He cried~
But my government was bigger
And they told the bigger lies.

Look Out! They may be watching you.
You never know what they’re looking through-
A telescope or satellite;
A cell phone or your trash at night.

I hear they’re coming after me
With invisible ears that listen;
Sensors, detectors, x-ray machines,
Computers and infrared vision.

Thank goodness they know what’s good for me.
The Powers Above have let me see
That they demand the absolute best-
For themselves; their self- interests
And “Good Luck!” to all the rest.

Cosmic Connecting

The universe consists of atoms
Strung in symmetrical links.
The Mind perceives and the Body reacts
To what one sees and thinks.

Everything combines to form
Planets, voids and stars;
One might possibly assume
You’re the center of where you are.

Nothing perceives itself until
Interaction and movement take place.
In view of apparent and visible evidence
Everyone sets their own pace.

So walk with a Purpose, see Beauty and know
There is substance and form self-created.
Mind is material mixed with ethereal
Everything must be related.

Activities Performed Without Moving

I sense stillness in the early hours
When darkness sits with silence for a bit;
A firefly stops by and after visiting my hand,
Launches from my upright fingertip.

Quiet moments form a chain
Link, by link, by link;
Meditation, books and writing
Stretch the way I think.

Mind and Body seek the peace
That stillness lights upon;
I move within and then without
To greet the new day’s dawn.

Stillness and movement are never apart,
They exist symbiotically in Soul and Heart;
Like Sunrise and Sunset occur in one day
I carry stillness in moveable ways.

Song of Survival
Sometimes when we are deeply hurt,
When we feel alone or sad,
Comfort will help us to live with our loss
But I tell you that things are'nt that bad.

Our Mind can get clogged if we don’t clean the mess.
I can’t fix everything so I’ll deal with your stress.
Denial is more than a way people hide;
It’s like breaking for recess when we’re broken inside.

Survival requires we don’t self-destruct,
Self-will may sustain us; many others need luck.
Everyone drowning who reaches dry land
Takes time to recover before they can stand.

Things that don’t kill us nonetheless hurt,
There’s a brightness of Innocence dimmed;
Yet ember yields fire when fanned by the healing
Of knowing that everyone’s sinned.

We all feel better after dealing with grief
But right in the middle, find some relief.
You can drive yourself crazy and still not arrive;
Your life is not over just because you’ve survived.

After near drowning, lie in the Sun;
You’ve struggled to get here so the hard part is done.
Right action will get right results if we try,
We can stand up and smile~. Today we’re alive.

Perhaps we can prevent the next angry shooter from acting out hateful and violent intentions with Love and Compassion in advance of these events? I know that a kind word does not fix the world but we are only trying to fix that one person.

Thought Creates Beauty

Kindness and Love are created through thought;
Intention will stimulate action.
The question I pose is: “Why not choose a path
Of Love, Beauty, Peace and Compassion? ”

Thoughts are foundations as bricks are to houses,
Experience forms solid facts;
Life is defined by the growth it inspires,
Not by what I think it lacks.

Don’t wait for permission from within or without,
You can choose to be happy in spite
Of all you have learned about justified anger
As a proper response to your Life.

There is upstream and downstream, Darkness and Light,
Music and Silence; Wrong and Right.
I am the Spirit that occupies Man,
Anything Love can do, I also can.
Why not be happy and let others know
Spirit lives, breathes and moves as consciousness grows.

If shooting immigrants is encouraged by Donald Trump and his cheering, laughing audiences, our silence counts as complicity. Support for killing is not "tough talk". There's an app for that... The Ten Commandments. You can Google them. How many have been broken by this administration? Burn coal but not in our neighborhood, Don't get involved in the Middle East but sell 100 billion in arms to the Saundi government. You can cover the city of Philadelphia in weapons 50 feet deep. Who will be killed by the economic benefits of our weapons manufacturing and will the victims know how important they are to our rights as Americans? The Viet Nam War fueled our prosperity and Boeing built the aircrafts of Justice. Everyone was working to kill Communism and now we are supposed to like Vladmir Putin, because it's good for business. I'm sure he didn't mean to kill a couple in London while smiling so charmingly in publicity photos. It was those Saudi princes that dismembered a Washongton journalist; not Mr. Putin; don't get them confused.
If Americans wake up every morning to "Animal Farm" rules that change daily and make a mockery of those who cooperate while at the same time impune and deride opposition, we cannot help but lose our sense of right and wrong. Fear will only prevail and hatred will only flourish and meanness will only be tolerated for as long as bullies create victims and "good people" stand by silently.
I have been beaten, assalted and tear-gassed for carring a Peace sign. I witnessed children being washed in The Elipse Reflecting Pool after tear gas had been fired into the crowds. As a "Peace Poet" I am not a threat. If someone throws a rock is it ok to shoot me by out of a sense of patriotism? There is an app for that...Google those pesky 10 Commandments again.
Do not feel entitled to kill me. Nor are you entitled to build your security on those who are desperate for food and freedom. You cannot minimize the suffering of babies in strollers and the mothers who push those strollers for a thousand miles for a chance to work in a hotel or for some other lofty dream. We, however, we hit the lottery. Conception cannot be on your resume. Your parents didn't pick you out of a catalog and then start buying diapers. The only thing that makes you unique is your actions. When people are hurt they will remember every detail and when people are helped they remember the details as well. Everything else is what everyone has in common~ Life and free will...

Chain of Direction

We are Divine links that form chains in Time
Stretching out in all directions;
Consciously focus from right where you are
On subtle yet concrete connections.

Everyone’s linked to each other,
Admit or deny them their place;
Even the beggar, homeless and friendless,
Fills up a valuable space.

People and Nature form a chain,
One fragile echo-system;
The air we breathe, the soil and seed
Speak and we must listen.

Nothing is here forever.
Energy can’t be destroyed.
Kind acts and Compassion
Link hearts and fill the voids.
