John Oates came to Wilson to play a show in 2017 surrounded by cotton fields. When it was all over, he walked out toward the cotton fields, with Highway 61 on one side, the Mississippi River on the other. He went home to Nashville and cut an album in about two weeks. He called it “Arkansas.” Then he brought a film crew back to Wilson and shot the title track video right here in the village.

That’s the kind of thing that happens in this town. The music was already here before anyone recorded it. Johnny Cash grew up just a few minutes away in Dyess. Albert King, one of the greatest and most influential blues guitarists of all time, started his first band just down the road in Osceola. All of these songs came out of the same cotton that built Wilson.

Some people come to Wilson and canoe the Mississippi before lunch. Some people don’t leave the Louis until noon because Chef B put out fresh pastries for breakfast and they need to try every single kind.

That’s the thing about summer here: you can build the day yourself or have us offer you an itinerary.

Want to play a round of golf at Tin House Golf Course and then eat what’s in season at Wilson Cafe? You can do that. Want to sit at Staple with something cold and never move? That works too. Want to learn something you’ve never tried, eat a meal you’ll talk about for months, and still be back at the hotel by sunset? Also possible.

Wilson, Arkansas is less than an hour from Memphis. It’s a small town with a boutique hotel, a scratch kitchen, a golf course, a cocktail bar, and a dessert train that shows up when you least expect it. Everything is walkable and connected, and nothing is ever rushed.

The people who come for adventure get it. The people who come to do absolutely nothing get that too. Summer here fits whoever you are when you arrive.

Staple is the lobby bar at The Louis. The name is personal to our village, because it comes from cotton. A “staple” is the fiber length that determines quality. Longer staple, finer thread. That felt right for this room. Green leather armchairs, a marble bar guests keep calling magnificent, and a welcome drink at check-in, your choice.
You can stay here all evening and never need a reason to leave.

Too many corporate retreats start in a conference room and end at a chain restaurant off the highway.

This one has a fleet of canoes on the Mississippi River and as many holes as you want at Tin House Golf Course.

If you choose, the conference room could be a long table at Wilson Cafe where the menu changes every season.

You can end the night at the hotel bar, Staple, and ask each other how soon the team can come back.

Wilson, Arkansas is less than an hour from Memphis. A Hallmark village where everything is connected so your visit is seamless. Your team won’t believe it’s a work trip.

Morning on the river is quiet in a way that’s hard to explain until you’re in the canoe.
By mid-morning you might be on the course at Tin House Golf Course, where the only thing rushing you is the wind off the Delta.
Lunch is whatever the kitchen at Wilson Cafe has crafted. It changes with the season. Order the whole menu if you want. Nobody’s watching the clock.
By evening you’re at Staple with something cold in your hand and nowhere to be tomorrow either. That’s a Tuesday here. Or a Saturday. It doesn’t really matter which.
