Please help us welcome our interim innkeepers! 🌟
After a long winter of exceptional service—welcoming guests, preparing breakfasts, maintaining the Inn, and keeping everything running seamlessly—our entire team has officially taken some well-earned PTO.
In their absence, we’re thrilled to introduce not one, but two highly qualified temporary replacements:
🫎🫎 Doug & Gary, Co-Guest Experience Managers
This dynamic duo brings a complementary skill set, including:
• Coordinated full-property patrols (they do everything together)
• Selective shrub and tree “maintenance”
• Simultaneous window-side supervision from multiple angles
• A strong, silent presence that really fills a space
While our usual team is known for warm, attentive hospitality, Doug and Gary take a more intensely present, quietly looming approach to hospitality. You may notice them quietly observing your stay from just outside your window—this is simply part of their commitment to excellence.
A few quick notes for incoming guests:
• If you hear light crunching outside, rest assured—landscaping is being handled
• Check-in may feel less verbal, but no less impactful
• Sudden movements or attempts to engage may be interpreted as a request for immediate assistance, which they will respond to with impressive speed and an enthusiasm that may be hard to walk back
We’re confident Doug and Gary will uphold Bentwood’s standards—just with a bit more height, teamwork, and intensity.
The human (and dog) Bentwood team will return in May, well-rested and ready to reclaim their roles.
(Doug and Gary have not been informed of this transition plan and we don't recommend telling them.)

Okay okay… April Fools 😄
While we aren’t actually handing the inn over to Doug and Gary, we are taking a bit of time to reset in April. We’ll be mostly unreachable by phone during that time, but if you need anything, please send us an email and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Thank you as always—and we’ll see you in May 🤍
