$95 for a canoe or double kayak, $63 for a single, includes the boat, food and drink at the halfway point, entertainment and s’mores around the campfire. Should be a blast!

It’s a lot of work to keep this river navigable! Every time we have high water, the intense currents erode the riverbank enough to cause trees to topple over into the water. These logs create deep pools and shallow riffles crucial for fish populations, food and shelter for wildlife, and help slow down rushing currents to prevent further erosion. These logs also give turtles a crucial spot to sun themselves and warm up their bodies.

However, they also create giant blockages that make passing through via kayak impossible. So, as good stewards of the river we love, we clear what we need to to keep the river safe and navigable, so that everyone can experience the beauty of this rustic river. It’s very physically demanding but the work is its own reward 🙂

A little wildlife for your Friday! We went out clearing downed trees today, and ran into a nice 6 foot alligator on the riverbank. Water levels are very high right now, and I recommend calling to check on conditions before coming out for a trip.
