Unfortunately we are still flooded out and closed down at the moment, we anticipate reopening if the weather cooperates by 8-13 or so.

Hey Y'all! Are you staying dry in all this rain? It's been wonderful for the plantlife around here, but the river is higher than we typically like it; we're at 7.5 feet and close for safety's sake at 8 feet.

Only very experienced paddlers who feel completely comfortable in navigating a boat through tight squeezes with low hanging branches and swift current should attempt the trip right now. Fingers crossed the river levels go down soon, but conditions will likely be the same for the weekend as well!

Ok, here's how I see this weekend.

1. Rain coverage will be much higher along the coast.

2. Sunday and Monday should see more rain than Saturday.

3. Rain totals here are kind of misleading. There will be some pockets of heavy totals, but overall, I think several inches of rain are a good bet...especially along the coast. It's Florida..we all know everyone won't see this.

4. Rain starts overnight/early am, then pushes inland and North later in the day. It will NOT rain all day.

5. Just like today, there will be plenty of periods of sunshine to get stuff done outdoors.

6. Wind won't be an issue other than gusts in storms.

7. Bottom line, welcome rains arrive this weekend. Best chances Sunday and Monday. Inland less.

Water levels are finally up for the first time in what feels like forever! We're officially over the 3 foot mark, which means that it's still shallow but that DRAMATICALLY lowers the number of times you'll get stuck on shallow sandbars and downed trees. If you've been waiting for better conditions, now's the time to get out there and explore!

The river is flowing and we're getting ready to kick off July with some big groups, big projects, and big changes. We can't wait to see all of you on the river!

The picnic pavilions mark the halfway marker of your canoe trip, and are the perfect place to take a little breather. The beach is perfect for swimming, and the pavilions are screened in to protect from bugs (not that we have many bugs on the river to begin with ) and are a short walk away from the bathroom facilities just right up the road, about 300 feet. They also mark the end of the shallow section of the river, and once you pass them by the trip is significantly easier to navigate even at lower water levels.
