A Little Piece of Puerto Rico at The Fox and The Farmhouse 🦊🏡

One of the joys of hosting is meeting guests who leave behind more than memories.

Recently, guests visiting from Puerto Rico spent a relaxing afternoon painting rocks on the brick circle patio. As avid fishing enthusiasts, it was only fitting that one of their creations featured a beautifully detailed fish with a cheerful "Hello From PR" greeting as well as a beautiful rock representing the Puerto Rican flag.

But the real star of the collection?

A special rock painted just for our concierge kitty, Jericho. Complete with his signature gray fur and blue bandana, they perfectly captured one of our favorite farmhouse residents.

These thoughtful little works of art are a reminder that travel isn't just about the places we visit; it's about the connections we make along the way.

Spend time exploring Broad Street's unique local businesses, including Love Letters Winder, Ignite Yoga and Wellness, and one of our personal favorites, Framemakers, a locally owned frame shop known for its thoughtful gift selection.

In the afternoon, enjoy an 8-minute walk to Finished Goods Brew Werks for a craft beverage. Just one block farther, relax at Jug Tavern Park, home to many of Winder's festivals, concerts, and community events throughout the year.

Looking for a family-friendly day? Start your morning at the Barrow County Farmers Market then spend the afternoon browsing antique stores and local shops within an easy 10–12-minute walking loop. When the day winds down, return to The Fox & The Farmhouse for peaceful evenings, cozy spaces, and all the comforts of home.

"A place that felt like home, both the house and the hospitality. Very welcoming decor and charm that make it feel less like a house and more like a home, and the owners and family of the home… even more so. Warm and comforting...somewhere to come back to after a day away and to be able to relax. All the amenities you need and close to stores for things you might have forgotten. All the details are taken care of, and it shows.

Located in the beautiful small town of Winder (with things to do!) and to get away from the business of the city, but just a short drive if you want a little bit more action in your day.

I stayed for an extended period of time and felt like I was leaving family when I moved on to my next stop. They took care of me like one of their own.
