Hey!! Winfield time coming soon - time for the annual KRC ridiculously-long reminder post
🤟😃🤟.....important stuff - please let me know if you'll be joining our camp this year (28th year of KRC!!)...and few more things to consider:
* many if not all answers to questions about Walnut Valley Festival can be found here -
https://www.wvfest.com/ ...just click the 3 little bars in blue line on link to get breakdown of all details
* there is a Walnut Valley Festival app in PlayStore - highly recommend downloading it, it comes in handy
* Dates to keep in mind (all of this is in main website database also):
□July 1, 8am - online pre-lineup registration begins, it's complicated, there are just 3 or 4 of us doing it to help secure a good line number for our camp, if you'd like to do this also the more the merrier and better our chances for a good line-letter designation (Line A is best, but goes A-F in oder of earliest registrars - only hitch is if you pre-register you MUST attend both early Line-Up Day Aug. 28 at 7am, and Land Rush Day Sept 9th at 7am), some extra $$ costs will be incurred by us doing this process so if you'd like to throw a few extra bucks in on that when you arrive later, be appreciated, plus if you'd like to use electricity, Pat is securing the main electric tag, so a few additional bucks his way if using electricity would be appreciated for that....ok, so....TMI here, refer to link for fees and times for paying camping fees and all other details I don't have here -
□ Aug. 28 - Pre-line Up Day 7am start - those of us that did July 1 early line-up registration will be shuffled into appropriate line designations in person in Winfield
□ Sept 4th, 7am - Number Day - folks that have already gone through previous semi-arduous processes and are on hand in Winfield at this time are then given a line # for their correct letter line (yes, it's nuts, but once we get through all this, A BLAST....)
□ Sept. 9th, 7am - Land Rush - all designated line-lettered campers are let into campground in order, and hopefully get the spots they want. If you haven't already paid some camping fees at that point, i.e. - are not participating in the early lineup stuff, I highly recommend and would prefer you get a FULL FESTIVAL ticket (if not yet purchased or carried over from last year's cancelled Fest), and also allow me to buy you a physical wooden campstake to put down for your spot reserving a place for you within our camp, I will need a money transfer (PayPal, Venmo, FB Pay) or check from you for the camping-fees amount from Land Rush onto the end of the festival to reserve that stake/guarantee a spit for you, that is 10 nights @ $15/night = $150, if writing a check, leave "to" section blank, make it for $150, and the last name you want stake under written in memo section, if venmo, I am -Schmiedeler .... if paypal I am [email protected] .....and if FB Pay, I am Nick Schmiedeler
□ If not doing Land Rush with us, when you arrive anytime after that, remember you're all paid up starting the 9th if not earlier, and you can come visit ANY DAY OR DAYS after that through the end of the festival, anyway when you do arrive 1st time, text me and I will meet you at west (main) entrance off 9th St with your stake as proof of camping purchased
ITS ALL CLEAR AS WINFIELD MUD, right??!! So many little things but worth it in the end !!! just refer to website, app, or call the phone # listed on website for other issues you're not clear on, also happy to try to clarify anything I may have screwed up above also in this post....holler at me soon, thanks - Nick
The Walnut Valley Festival and National Flat-Picking Championships are held annually on the third weekend in September, in Winfield, Kansas, at the Winfield Fairgrounds.
