Thank you, Christi Salmons, for the beautiful new signs around Possum Trot! ❤️

I originally asked for just two signs: one for Brooks Nook and one for Outlaw (formerly Hole in the Wall). The problem was they looked so good they made the rest of the town look tired. 😂

Before long, we were freshening up signs all over town. Thank you, Christi, for helping add a little more character to a place that means so much to me. They turned out beautiful, and I appreciate the time and care you put into every one of them. ❤️

The details are finally coming together! The dates are set. The agenda is set. Speakers are locked in. The tickets are live!!

I am beyond excited to announce my first full weekend retreat through Breathe & Bloom, right here at Possum Trot. There is something especially meaningful about bringing this retreat to the place I call home. These hills, these trails, the porches, the stories, the music, and the community have all shaped who I am. To be able to share that experience with others through Appalachian Roots feels like a natural next step in my journey.

We'll gather around campfires, learn about Appalachian traditions, explore the woods, share meals, create, reflect, and reconnect with ourselves and one another.

I'm incredibly grateful to be growing Breathe & Bloom in a place that means so much to me, and I can't wait to welcome you.

Did You Know?
Before air conditioning became common, many Appalachian families spent summer evenings and even entire nights on their porches.

Sleeping porches were designed to catch the cool mountain breeze, offering relief from the heat long before window units and central air existed.

The porch wasn't just a place to cool off. It was where stories were told, music was played, neighbors visited, and families gathered at the end of a long day.

In many ways, the porch was the original social network. One of the things I love most about Possum Trot is that there are porches EVERYWHERE. Whether it's a rocking chair on a cabin porch, a quiet spot outside the saloon, or a hammock strung between the trees or porch posts, there are plenty of places to slow down, listen to the sounds of the mountains, and simply be present.

Those old Appalachian families were onto something. ❤️

🌿 HOME AGAIN... AND POSSUM TROT HASN'T MISSED A BEAT ✨🌿
After two incredible weeks in Greece, I'm back home with a full heart, a renewed perspective, and a long list of beds to strip, cabins to refresh, and rooms to get back online. 😊

Even while I was away, Possum Trot stayed busy. We welcomed a motorcycle group for a stay and hosted a beautiful graduation celebration in the saloon.

Now it's time to shift into summer mode!

I'm also excited to share that this year's EDM Festival is officially booked! One of my favorite things is watching the transformation that takes place as the property evolves into a completely different experience for an entire weekend. The creativity, energy, music, and community are always something special to witness.

And this October, I'm adding something brand new to the calendar:
🍂 Appalachian Roots: Kim's Breathe and Bloom Retreat- A weekend centered around music, mountains, wellness, connection, nature, movement, and slowing down long enough to hear yourself think again. More details coming soon, but I'm super excited about where this vision is headed.

💨 6:00-7:00 PM | Movement & Breath Gentle stretching, mobility, breathwork, and nervous system regulation practices designed to help you arrive fully in the present moment.

🔔 7:00-7:45 PM | Sound Healing A restorative sound healing experience featuring crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, drums, chimes, and rainsticks.

🔥 7:45-8:30 PM | Solstice Fire Ceremony Write down something you're ready to release, a dream you're ready to pursue, or an intention you'd like to nurture during the months ahead. We'll gather around the fire and offer those intentions to the flames.

✨ 8:30-9:00 PM | Connection & Closing Community, conversation, and a peaceful close to the evening under the summer sky.
