Today I’m cleaning up the garden beds right outside the back door as we get ready for everything to BLOOM. The whole town is about to bloom… and so is Oaklea Mansion.

It’s happening! The garden is officially waking up at Oaklea. 🌷✨

There is nothing quite like that first moment you spot green breaking through the soil. After a long winter sleep, the Oaklea grounds are coming back to life, and we are right out there in the dirt with them! 🧤🌱

From the first buds on our heritage roses to the blankets of spring bulbs beginning to show their colors, the transformation is starting. We’re busy prepping, pruning, and planting to make sure everything is breathtaking for the Winnsboro Bloom Festival next month.

🎄🌿 Even the Plants Are Getting in the Christmas Spirit! 🌿🎄

At Oaklea Mansion, it’s not just the rooms that dress up for the holidays… the plants are fully involved in the festivities too! ✨

From sneaking into the cozy corners of our decorated suites to enjoying the twinkling lights and warm glow of Christmas, our leafy friends have officially declared themselves part of the holiday crew. They’ve moved in, cozied up, and decided this is their season to shine.

After all, what’s Christmas without a little extra greenery? 😉🌱

🌿🎄 When your plants decide the holiday décor is their décor… 😂

With this Texas cold snap rolling in tonight, all our leafy friends from the side porch have officially moved indoors and are currently invading the holiday decorations like they own the place.

They’re bundled up in the warmth of the mansion, getting cozy, sipping imaginary cocoa, and doing their best to survive this “arctic” Texas weather. ❄️😂

Don’t worry—they’ll head back outside tomorrow night once things warm up again. But for now… the plants have spoken, and they’re staying inside where it’s toasty!

If you spot a fern photobombing a Christmas tree or a pothos trailing across the garland… just know they’re doing what all Texans do when it gets cold—huddling up and hoping winter is gentle. 🤣💚

🌿 From Droopy to Dreamy! 🌿

This little guy was looking so sad — droopy leaves, tired stems, and just begging for a little TLC. 💧✨ So we gave him a full refresh: fresh soil, a good drink, and a little pep talk (because plants need encouragement too!).

Now look at him — standing tall, bright, and so much happier! 🌞💚

Sometimes all it takes is a little care to bring new life to your space — come see all the refreshed plants thriving on the porch at Oaklea Mansion!

🌿 Plant Refresh Time! 🌿

Our vining friend on the side porch had really outgrown his old setup — reaching tall and wide like he was ready to explore the mansion himself! 😄 So, we gave him a well-deserved refresh: a new setup, a little trim, and some extra love.

Now he’s looking full, happy, and ready to keep climbing in his cozy new spot on the porch at Oaklea Mansion.

Come by and see his fresh new look — and all the other plants that make our porches feel alive! 🌱💚
