Ahoy, mateys! Students from the Appalachian State University ACES Program joined us for a retreat and said, "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me!" Their off-site meeting included one of our most spirited Team-Building Adventures, Pirates of the Piedmont. The students split into teams to build and decorate a boat, then race it across the Graylyn pond. 🏴‍☠️ 🎉

Please help us welcome Kevin Donnelly to the Graylyn leadership team as the Director of Operations! Kevin's career spans over 20 years leading hotel operations, food and beverage outlet management, convention services, and serving as Director of Human Resources at grand hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kevin has roots across the United States, including New England, and began his hospitality career at the Palmer House in Chicago, Illinois. Kevin joined us just in time to welcome Team Germany and helped ensure their comfortable and peaceful stay while they were in Winston-Salem.

Executive Chef Christopher Fulk hosted a culinary lesson and tour for students from the Winston-Salem Street School. Chef Chris shared the method for making pasta salad with the students and chatted with them about culinary careers.

The Winston-Salem Street School (WSSS) is a private alternative high school serving the at-risk youth of the Greater Winston-Salem area of North Carolina.
