Hello Riders!!
Just a few reminders about Fall ATV/UTV riding! Most of Sawyer County trails ‼️ARE OPEN‼️ and many stay open through the winter! Woo Hoo!! There are some specific areas that do have some closures, either for a short time or unit later spring. We have listed those to help guide you so you can keep planning those rides!!
🚫The Tuscobia Trail/ #10: From Birchwood to the Price County line does close for just a month, starting 11/15 through Dec 15th during hunting season.
🚫Forest Road 203 in the Spider Lake Township (northeast corner of the county) did close 10/23 until 5/1.
🚫Trail 31 north of the Tuscobia to just north of Edgewater (southwest corner of the county) did close the third Sunday in Oct until Memorial Weekend.
🟠🚫Trails in the Flambeau Forest are close to ATV/UTV’s 11/15-5/15.
🟢All other ATV/UTV trails are open all fall including the county forest and the Chequamegon National Forest. When the county gets accumulative snow fall to enable grooming the County Forest (dark green on map) does close to UTV's and units over 900lbs. All trails outside county forest, the Flambeau, 203 and 31 north in Edgewater do stay open during the winter. Roads/routes that are legal such as the County Roads (lettered roads) and town roads that allow ATV/UTV (see town signage and the map does show town boarders to assist you. Visit those township websites to confirm). Do remember not all county roads within the LCO reservation are open, the sections that are, are on the map.
You can download the map on the Trail Treker app as well as pick up a paper map at many establishments and info centers/Chambers throughout the county, or we can mail you one. The new 2025-26 map will be out about mid-December.
