You can hike along it from its origin at Big Meadow.
Salmon Creek begins on the Kern Plateau and flows through Sequoia National Forest to the Kern River north of Kernville. The sign marks 4,480 feet in elevation along the creek. Hikers can reach Salmon Creek by the Rincon Trail, where creekside shade follows a climb with broad views of the Upper Kern country. A lovely reward for the uphill miles. 💙
