At the request of the Rural Fire Council and Sheriff Dutton in his role as Fire Warden, the Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution to establish Stage 2 Fire Restrictions, effective at 12:01am Saturday, July 31. This resolution places prohibition on operation of motorized vehicles off designated roads and trails. In addition, the use of equipment powered by an internal combustion engine, welding tools, or explosive materials is prohibited during the hours of 1pm to 1am.
Important to note - there are exemptions for essential activities, including repair, maintenance, and construction of infrastructure, public utilities, and railroads, as well as agricultural and construction activity provided the operator takes appropriate precautions and has fire suppression equipment on hand.
