About This Space
Calling all rail fans, history buffs, and peace seekers! Our historic loft apartment offers guests a modern, open space with convenient access to the local shopping and restaurant scene, spacious rooms, and beautiful views of historic downtown Woodbine and the scenic farmland of the Boyer River valley.

The space:
Welcome to our modern-meets-rustic upper story apartment, with all the accommodations and privacy of a modern home. The Rail Perch is located in Woodbine’s historic downtown district.
3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps up to 12 guests.
Primary bedroom: queen bed and en-suite
Bedroom 2: queen bed
Bedroom 3: double over double bunk beds
Main living space: trundle bed with two single mattresses, couch with queen sleeper, and space for a double sized air mattress.
All beds outfitted with extremely comfortable bedding for a great night’s sleep.
Updated kitchen with all new appliances, dishwasher, and beautiful repurposed wood from the historical 1913 lumberyard building.
Smart TV and sectional couch.
Parking for guests is free and just outside the door.
The Experience:
Relax on the outdoor porch and take in the beautiful views, or experience the excitement of the trains whizzing by. Walk to breakfast or for a coffee at one of the local eateries. Spend a while shopping in Woodbine’s sweet brick street district, and the evening dining at one of our various restaurants or visiting our local bar to check out the nightlife. Take a drive through the Loess Hills and visit Willow Lake Recreation Area and Nature Center, or buy a pass to use the indoor pool or gymnasium at the CREW center. If you visit in the late summer or fall, drive to the community apple orchard to pick your own apples. Use our clean and open space to relax and reconnect with your partner, family, or group.
Getting around:
Woodbine is located 50 miles northeast of Omaha, 2 hours west of Des Moines, and 1.5 hours south of Sioux City, along Highway 30.
Clarifications:
We ask for a two night reservation, especially on holiday weekends, but we have a one night fee that can be arranged in some cases. Payment is by cash or Venmo.
Pets are welcome. There is a $50 pet fee for the extra cleaning, and no pets are allowed on the furniture or to be left unattended.
There is a staircase with a hand railing that guests would have to climb, so this rental is not for those with impaired mobility.
There is train activity during the night. Thus far, our guests have not claimed to have been bothered by the trains, however there are ear plugs available in every room for light sleepers.
The apartment is located above our veterinary clinic. If you choose to stay during the week, there will be business activity being conducted on the main level during the regular business hours of 8 am to 4:30 pm.
