At the Angola Prison Rodeo in Angola, Louisiana, the day begins long before the first event in the arena. Gates open at 8 a.m., giving visitors time to hear inmate bands, enjoy Cajun and regional food, and browse jewelry, leatherwork, paintings, woodworking, and other arts and crafts from more than 800 inmate artists before the rodeo begins at 2 p.m.

The fall rodeo is held every Sunday in October—October 4, 11, 18, and 25—and tickets are already on sale.

Some people in Woodville remember our building from years ago. Others know it only as The Joshua on 61. Both are part of its story.

Long before it became The Joshua on 61, the property welcomed travelers as the Glenburnie Motor Hotel.

The building still stands in the same familiar spot on Highway 61, preserving the nostalgia and convenience of its roadside past. Inside and out, however, it was extensively renovated and given a new purpose.
