DOWNTOWN WOO’S NEWS
I wanted to do a Downtown Woo post. It seems like things are changing around there, so I just wanted to catch everyone up on the past few months.
Hero House was sold. Word on the street is that the new owner will be opening it back up?
Wayne Center for the Arts is building a Fab Lab (Fabrication Lab) and getting a glow up in the parking lot, too. The new space will include a Harmony Garden, amphitheater, Fab Lab, basketball court, playground and more.
Make the Impact is now in the old Cloud Nine Playspace spot.
OTW Music opened at 336 S Market Street.
Helms Barber Shop that was on Bever St is now The Hair Foundry.
Salon 316 is now The Velvet Veil with three stylists and two nail techs.
Marc's Gunsmithing is coming to the old AirGas building on Old 30.
Compufix Wooster moved into the Best Western Business Plaza across from Sherwin Williams. 243 E Liberty Suite 150
Westfield Bank was sold and will be opening as First Financial bank as of Monday March 16th.
City News is turning into City News and Brews and will be opening with ci**rs, food, and a golf simulator.
Crystal Lake Creatives (236 S Market St) is having a pop up shop Saturday from 11 am-3 pm and has salt and light sauna/red light therapy available for walk ins. It is also has local art and art gallery.
As of yesterday, March 12, The Lyric is the only theater in town. Cinemark on the north end is now closed.
I *think* Local Roots is still in-process of moving into the Ride On space, but haven’t heard any current updates.
Edenlife and Company opens today at 130 S Market Street. It is both a boutique and home decor shop. It is tucked in that corner by Omahoma Bob’s.
Worth the Squeeze juice shop closed. No word on what that space will become.
Wayne County Community Foundation is going in the spot formerly occupied by Larry’s Music. The building is currently getting a glow up.
The Spoon became The Retriever on Liberty, a farm to table and locally sourced restaurant.
Boba Bowl closed and will be becoming The Wooster Marquette, a French restaurant that will be serving, among other things, brunch!
Fleet Feet closed and became Second Sole.
No words on the street yet about the empty spots where Jimmy John’s, Salsaroja, and Matsos were.
Friendtique got a remodel.
The Milkhouse is going in the former Meatheads spot and will be serving up dairy delights. I’m excited for the ice cream.
Underground’s Cafe was recently featured on New Day Cleveland. They have a new line of drinks and energy boosters.
Blue Spruce Boutique just celebrated 10 years last week! Congrats to them!!
TJ’s Trio is celebrating 60 years in business! Congrats to them!!
