I’m sitting in a hotel room right now dreaming of dahlias! It’s been a long winter, and we’ll probably see more snow and cold, but SPRING is on it’s way. Since October when our plants died from the first frost, my mom and I dug up all of the tubers, split them and put them away for a long winter’s nap. I brought a box of tubers home last week and gently opened up each one to see how they were doing. They are sprouting! The tubers look healthy and beautiful and ready to grow. Many of you may not know, but we launched a website over Christmas to sell our tubers. I could not be more pleased with the response that we have received. I have talked to customers from New York to California and can’t wait to send them their tubers. We are sold out of many varieties and I have taken them off the site, but we have many other gorgeous varieties still waiting for a home. We are also going to do a bouquet subscription again this summer, starting in August. For $100, you get a beautiful, bouquet of strictly dahlia blooms. ($120 for delivery). We so enjoyed seeing peoples faces light up last summer when they received their bouquets. A bonus this year is that if you buy a subscription, you get 2 free tubers to plant in your own yard.
