Ride somewhere with no plan. Get on the water because it’s there. Keep an eye out for the neighborhood regulars. Order the drink with the tiny paper plane in it. Stay through sunset. Eat well. Sleep hard. Do it again tomorrow.

Wrightsville Beach is pretty good at filling in the rest.

Curious about scuba, but not quite ready to commit to the certification course? Start in the pool. 🏊🏻‍♀️

With Soundside Adventures, Discover Scuba Diving is a private or semi-private one-hour intro with a PADI instructor, covering the gear, a few basic skills, and the very strange-in-a-good-way feeling of breathing underwater for the first time. It’s an easy first step if you’ve always wondered what scuba is actually like, and it can also move you toward an Open Water Diver certification. 🤿

Consider this your sign to try something new below the surface.

Paddle in the morning, ride the loop when the light gets good, catch sunset from the sound, then find your way to the firepit. No beach day expiration date around here.

Around here, beach season doesn’t follow the calendar. 🌊

Fall is one of our favorite times to get in the water at Wrightsville Beach. The summer crowds start to thin, but the ocean is still holding onto its warmth, and the surf starts getting more interesting.

Summer here often means smaller, wind-driven waves. As fall arrives, changing weather patterns and distant Atlantic systems can send longer-traveled swell toward the North Carolina coast. September alone has already brought everything from easy-going days to chest-to-head-high surf.

Our advice? Check the forecast, pay attention to the tides, and don’t put the board away just because summer’s over.

Allie & Alex said “I do” with the Atlantic as their backdrop, then made a whole weekend of it at Surf & Sound, exactly how we think a beach wedding should be.

The best part of getting married here is that the celebration doesn’t have to start and stop with the ceremony. Say your vows in the oceanfront gardens, move to cocktails on the lawn, then head inside for dinner and dancing. The next morning, everyone you love is still right here, steps from the sand and ready for whatever comes next.

Want to stretch it out even longer?
