PROPOSITION 127 ( #91) Prohibit Trophy Hunting

The way this has been written up, once again, makes it sound like a great, humane idea. It's not. What we've witnessed with wolves will be played out again, but this time, it WILL impact the front range cities as well as rural communities. Let's place our trust in CPW to continue to successfully manage our great ungulate herds as well as our predators (big cats, coyotes, lynx, etc). Let's not make another ballot-biology mistake!

VOTE NO

This initiative creates a ban on recreational trophy hunting and commercial fur trapping in Colorado. According to Colorado Parks & Wildlife, hunting is one way in which the big cat population is effectively managed, and the populations at present are ideal. Animal extremists are using ballot box biology to scare voters about hunting and fi****ms, using misleading terms like โ€œcruel death,โ€ to accomplish other means, mostly anti-gun rhetoric.

We need every Colorado hunter, rancher, conservative, and rural resident to call and write your district representative and state Senator to stop this foolish "Trophy Bill" (No Mountain Lion hunting and no lethal kill of wolves - ever)! If this passes, it will ensure our Elk, Deer and Moose populations are devastated. Result = No Hunting!

Do it--takes only a few minutes: https://leg.colorado.gov/house-district-map?fbclid=IwAR1-3jOgCZJGskcuHA9HmPAbBTcJGQ8Qq_6LJce1nlcUtI5Tgva4LsE-vc0

โ€œAs far as building relationships with the ranching community, this action immensely harms any sort of trust that the CPW could have hoped to build with local ranchers,โ€ writes rancher โ€ฆ

You just can not make this up. Stupid is as stupid does!

I thought it would be a long time before we would be effected by this wolf introduction. I prayed that my sons and grandsons would figure out how to cope and live with them, when the time came. However, with a video-confirmed sighting right here in South Routt, I now found myself laying awake at 2am wondering if I should get up and check on our replacement heifers in the lower meadow, 2 miles from our house. Should we bring all the cows home? Should we just wait and see? Should we spend the money to prepare, using Don G.'s advice from his experience in North Park?

Then, this morning I read these articles! As one of my old high-tech buddies used to say....Y.J.C.M.T.S.U. Indeed, stupid is as stupid does!
