Sunrise Motel Ocean views on Long Sands Beach in York Maine ๐ŸŒŠ Sea you at Sunrise โ˜€๏ธ We are a small motel on York Beach, Maine.

We have wonderful ocean views from our 25 rooms. Including 22 Front-Ocean View rooms, and 3 Side-Ocean View rooms. All rooms have a mini-fridge/freezer, coffeemaker, microwave, and flat screen TV with Roku streaming. 12 of our rooms have full efficiency kitchens, with dishes and utensils for cooking provided.

๐ŸŒง๏ธ NORโ€™EASTER COMING: A FEW REMINDERS FROM YPD ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ

It looks like we have a multi-day norโ€™easter headed our way, with heavy rain, strong winds, and the potential for flooding.

Before the weather really gets going, take a few minutes to prepare:

๐Ÿ  Around the house
โ€ข Bring in or secure outdoor furniture, trash cans, decorations, and anything else that could blow around.
โ€ข Clear leaves and debris from storm drains if it is safe to do so.
โ€ข Charge your phones and flashlights.
โ€ข Make sure you have medications, food, water, and other essentials on hand.
โ€ข If you have a generator, make sure it is ready to go and NEVER operate it inside your home, garage, or other enclosed space.

๐Ÿš— If you have to drive
โ€ข DO NOT drive through water if you donโ€™t know how deep it is. A road that looks passable may be hiding a washed-out roadway, debris, or much deeper water. Turn around and find another route.
โ€ข Please pay attention to road closure signs and barricades. If a road is closed, it is closed for a reason! Do not drive around barricades or ignore closure signs.
โ€ข Slow down and give yourself extra stopping distance.
โ€ข Watch for standing water, debris, downed trees, and other hazards.

โšก Downed wires = STAY AWAY
Never approach or drive over a downed power line. Treat every downed wire as energized and report it to the appropriate utility or emergency services.

๐ŸŒŠ Remember, conditions can change quickly.
A road that is perfectly fine one hour may be flooded or blocked the next. Pay attention to changing conditions, especially in low-lying and coastal areas. A trip to see the Nubble during a storm isnโ€™t worth getting stuck!

Keep an eye on local weather forecasts, emergency alerts, and official town and public safety updates throughout the storm.

And as always, if you donโ€™t need to be on the road, stay home and allow us to be out on the roads making sure theyโ€™re as safe as possible!

Every year, Long Sands Beach becomes the setting for the Beach Bonfire Benefit, a community event that's been warming hearts since 2001. What began as a fundraiser following the events of September 11 has grown into a beloved annual tradition supporting local charities, raising more than $100,000 over the years. A towering bonfire lights up the shoreline while families enjoy live entertainment, food, raffles, and the unmistakable feeling of a community coming together for a good cause.

Before the fire is lit, spend the day discovering everything else York has to offer.

Step back in time at Old York Village, where beautifully preserved colonial buildings tell the story of one of Maine's earliest settlements. Wander through museums, historic homes, and quiet village streets that have welcomed visitors for centuries.

Looking for a little adventure? Head up Mount Agamenticus, where miles of hiking trails wind through forests that burst into shades of red, orange, and gold each fall. From the summit, you'll be rewarded with sweeping views that stretch from the Atlantic Ocean to the White Mountains on a clear day.

And of course, no visit to York feels complete without a stroll along the coast. Walk the wide sands of Long Sands Beach, explore the rocky shoreline, or make your way to Cape Neddick "Nubble" Lighthouse, one of the most photographed lighthouses in New England. Without the bustle of peak summer, you'll have more space to slow down, breathe in the salt air, and enjoy the scenery.

Fall has a way of making York feel even more authentic.

The history stands out a little more.

The coastline feels a little quieter.
