YUMA THRIVE INITIATIVE BUSINESS SHOUT-OUT!

Today, we're giving a special thank-you to Mexsu!

A thriving community is built on more than just businesses. It's built on the people behind those businesses who take pride in the community they serve.

Mexsu brings more than amazing food to Yuma. They bring flavor, culture, and diversity that add to the character and quality of our small town.

But what we especially want to recognize today is their commitment to helping our community thrive!

By providing space in their establishment to display local events, community resources, and information about opportunities happening around Yuma, they are doing something incredibly valuable. They're helping connect our community.

Every flyer displayed, every event promoted, and every community resource shared helps support the organizations, volunteers, and individuals working to make Yuma stronger.

Sometimes it's the simplest contributions that make the biggest difference.

Thank you, Mexsu, for the wonderful food, the cultural richness you bring to our town, and for being a business that helps Yuma thrive!

When our local businesses support one another and our community, we grow stronger roots and create a brighter future together.

Big City Quality, Small Town Values.

This is exactly what small-town values look like.

We are proud to share this Yuma Thrive Initiative thank-you to Rudy’s Tires here in Yuma. Knowing we have trusted local businesses where we can confidently send our guests and travelers when they need assistance means so much to us.

When someone is traveling away from home and runs into a problem, great customer service, kindness, and a willingness to help can make all the difference. We are grateful to have a local business like Rudy’s Tires providing that kind of service right here in our community.

At Cobblestone Inn & Suites – Yuma, Colorado, we believe hospitality extends beyond our front doors. It means knowing our community and being able to point our guests toward local businesses that will take great care of them.

San Antonio Cobblestone Hotels conference 2026 photo drop

10/06/2026

One of the most memorable moments of the Cobblestone Hotels 2026 Conference in San Antonio was having the opportunity to tour the Alamo and spend an evening surrounded by so much history.

There is something powerful about standing on ground that holds so many stories, so much sacrifice, and such an important piece of our nation’s history.

After the tour, we were able to enjoy a beautiful banquet dinner together—eating, socializing, networking, laughing, and simply enjoying the evening with one another.

It was more than just a conference event. It was a chance to slow down, take in where we were, appreciate the history around us, and create memories together in a truly special place.

An absolutely beautiful evening and one of the highlights I will carry with me from the 2026 Cobblestone Conference.

Another great part of the Cobblestone Hotels Conference was hearing keynote speaker Heather Desiene and her discussion on navigating tough conversations.
Her presentation focused on the barriers that can make difficult conversations even harder—emotions, assumptions, fear of the truth, lack of communication skills, and power imbalances—and then gave us a practical way to work through them.
Head & Heart Check.
Ask great questions.
Restate & Respond.
Direct the path forward.
One of my biggest takeaways was the reminder that difficult conversations do not have to become confrontations. When we prepare ourselves, listen with the intention of understanding, ask the right questions, confirm what we heard, and work toward clear next steps, those conversations can actually strengthen relationships and teams.
Leadership means continuing to learn how to communicate better, especially when the conversation isn't an easy one.
Thank you, Heather Desiene, for a valuable and very relevant discussion.

Such an exciting part of the Cobblestone Hotels Conference — recognizing the people and properties who continue to raise the bar across our company.

Congratulations to the 2025 Top 5 Finalists in Employee of the Year, Investor of the Year, General Manager of the Year, and Property of the Year.

Behind every name and every property on this list is a lot of hard work, long days, teamwork, leadership, and dedication to our guests. Being recognized among so many great people and properties is something to be proud of.

Congratulations to every finalist, and thank you for continuing to represent what Cobblestone hospitality is all about.

Today’s keynote speaker, mentalist Sean Bott, brought an incredible mix of energy, insight, and entertainment to the Cobblestone Hotels Conference.

His “Connect for Keeps” presentation was all about building stronger connections, attracting and keeping great people, and creating teams and organizations where people can truly thrive.

It was engaging, thought-provoking, and a great reminder that leadership is about more than managing a property — it’s about understanding people, building trust, and creating a team people want to be part of.

Another great opportunity to learn, grow, and bring new ideas back home to our team.

Yesterday’s Managers Event was such a great opportunity to relax, reconnect, and enjoy San Antonio together.

It was wonderful getting to catch up with old friends, spend time with other Cobblestone managers, and take an amazing historical riverboat ride along the River Walk. We even got the inside story on the history of the River Walk and how it became such an important part of San Antonio.

Sometimes the best part of a conference is simply having the chance to connect outside of the meetings, share some laughs, and make new memories with people you don’t get to see nearly often enough.

Such a fun evening and a great way to experience a little bit of San Antonio history during the Cobblestone Hotels Conference 2026.
