At the end of 2015 Bart and Kiki finished building their new house in Jose Ignacio. The idea was to build a all year round family home that has enough space to receive and host family, friends and guests from all over the world. In summertime it becomes a real hotspot attracting thousands of people but in wintertime it really is a quiet place with only a handful of people living there all the yea
r. La Ballena Blanca responds to this with dynamics of its own and it stands out with its introvert character. In summertime you will feel hidden in your own private world while there is so much going on around you and in low season the house offers you protection and a cozy atmosphere while the silence is so tangible. Arriving at La Ballena Blanca you are welcomed in a relaxed, familiar atmosphere. Living there themselves privacy of both guests and the family needs to be respected, therefore the house was formed by 3 separate buildings positioned in a U- shape creating a patio. The family lives in the main building, the 3 guestrooms are situated in another one and a large kitchen building is positioned in between. Connected by pergolas they create a variety of outdoor spaces. Both interior and exterior spaces have a luxurious and comfortable character and a lot of attention was paid on creating a diversity of places where to hide and relax or places where to be together. The kitchen, the center of the house, is the place to have breakfast, relax at the fireplace, play a game or read in one of the many (cooking) books. Kiki might be preparing, a spontaneous lunch or a festive dinner, but feel free to get your own bottle of wine from the fridge or make yourself a little snack. They have their own little outdoor seat under the pergolas at the pool. And with an ocean view bathroom having a shower gives you an whole new dimension! Off course there is a great bed, free wifi, and a minibar but beside these amenities it is above all a cozy room with a lot of small details that make you feel at home. Warm croissants, fresh bread, home-made granola, marmalade and yoghurt, fresh pressed orange juice, seasonal fruits, free range eggs, coffee from italy, all to give you a good and happy start of your day!
