The old sugar mill ruins on St. John sit on one of the best lookouts in the USVI, with views stretching across Leinster Bay toward Tortola. A short ferry from St. Thomas gets you there, and the loop through the ruins takes about an hour if you take your time (and you should).
Pack water, wear real shoes, aim for morning light. Then ferry back, rinse off the salt, and let us pour you something cold on the porch.
