On St, John, we love the care everyone takes of the beaches and the waters. For example, certain sunscreens are not allowed because their contents are harmful to the coral in the bays. And 30 vounteers at the Friends of the VI National Park monitor various beaches to help protect sea turtle nests. Also, volunteers are replanting native trees along beaches that were damaged during the hurricanes... Even guests coming down for a week can volunteer to help! Great community spirit to protect and nurture this beautiful place!

Have planned an escape for ourselves to St John -- with a week at this sweet place. BUT just yesterday my work colleague posed the possibility of a BIG meeting right while we'd be on STJ. Agh! Now, how am I going to get the date moved to a GOOD time without confessing the real reason why? hmmmm

A favorite thing to do at La Bella villa is to put a dish of sugar-water on the bannister. These birdies love to try it out. And we have been adopted by 2 thrushes, one of which is one-legged but totally undaunted and unbothered by that fact!
