I'm absolutely in love with Da Lat-style Mì Quảng.
It only resembles the original Quảng Nam version in the noodles themselves. Everything else has evolved into something uniquely Da Lat.
The topping and broth are a beautiful blend of finely diced jicama, crushed dried shrimp, a touch of minced pork, all gently stir-fried to bring out their natural sweetness and aroma. The mixture is then simmered in a rich broth made from slow-cooked pork ribs until the meat becomes tender and succulent.
When you take a spoonful, all the ingredients melt together harmoniously, creating a comforting, savory-sweet flavor that is unmistakably Da Lat. The broth is delicate yet deeply flavorful, while the dried shrimp adds a subtle umami note that lingers pleasantly on the palate.
And then there’s the fresh salad greens and finely shredded cabbage. Crisp, refreshing, and surprisingly perfect alongside the warm noodles, they add a wonderful texture and freshness that makes every bite even more addictive.
On a chilly Da Lat morning, a steaming bowl of Mì Quảng paired with a glass of the city's signature milk coffee is pure comfort. The fragrant coffee, rich with condensed milk, and the hearty noodles are more than enough to warm your body and lift your spirits, whether you're a visitor or a local starting a new day.
I'm craving it already...
Maybe it's time to head back to BIKA and begin another food tour with me, guys ❤️🍜☕️✨
