Your flight lands at 11.40pm. By the time you clear immigration and reach the Old Quarter it's past one in the morning. The streets are shuttered. And somewhere behind one of those metal doors is the room you already paid for.
That's the part of the trip nobody plans for.
I've worked front desks in this quarter for 14 years, so here's what actually matters: ask whether reception is staffed 24 hours. Not "do you allow late check-in" - ask whether somebody is awake. Plenty of small hotels here lock the door and the night staff sleeps elsewhere.
Ours is open 24 hours, every night. Someone is at that desk when you arrive, whatever time your flight decides to land. We can also have your airport pick-up waiting with your name on a card, so you're not negotiating with a stranger at one in the morning.
One thing to do when you book: give us your flight number, not just the date. If it's delayed we'll know before you land, and someone will still be up.
