📌 IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR TRAVELERS IN VIETNAM THIS WEEK 🇻🇳
Vietnam’s National Day holiday runs from August 29 to September 2, 2026. If you’re already in Vietnam or arriving in the next few days, here are a few important things to know.
⚠️ VISA — READ THIS FIRST
Vietnam’s Immigration Department will be closed throughout the five-day holiday.
If you’re arriving between August 29 and September 3, make sure your e-visa has already been approved before you board your flight.
Applications submitted after August 27 may not be processed until September 3.
No approved visa = no entry. There is no emergency visa processing during the public holiday.
Already applied and still waiting? Check your visa status today rather than waiting until the last minute.
🏛️ WHAT WILL BE CLOSED
❌ Government offices
❌ Immigration offices
❌ Banks — in-person services
❌ Notary offices
Still operating as usual:
✅ Hotels
✅ Restaurants
✅ Tourist attractions
✅ ATMs
✅ Airlines
✅ Trains
💵 Tip: Withdraw some cash before the holiday begins. ATMs will continue to operate, but bank branches and over-the-counter services will be closed until September 3.
👥 EXPECT BIG CROWDS
Vietnam’s National Day holiday is one of the country’s busiest domestic travel periods, alongside Tết.
Popular destinations such as Ha Long Bay, Sapa, Phu Quoc, Da Nang, and Nha Trang are expected to be extremely busy.
For your trip, that means:
• Long lines at Fansipan, Ba Na Hills, Trang An, and Sung Sot Cave
• Heavy traffic on routes such as Hanoi–Ha Long and Hanoi–Sapa
• Allow an extra 1–2 hours for transfers
• Higher prices and limited availability for last-minute bookings
👉 Our best advice: start your day before 8 AM. It’s one of the easiest ways to beat the crowds this week.
🎆 BUT HERE’S THE UPSIDE
You’re in Vietnam during a truly special time.
This year marks 81 years since Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnam’s independence at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi.
You’ll see Vietnamese flags everywhere, streets filled with celebrations, and fireworks lighting up the sky.
On September 2, fireworks are scheduled at seven locations in Ho Chi Minh City from 9:00–9:15 PM.
The whole country will be celebrating together. 🇻🇳❤️
Most visitors never get to experience Vietnam quite like this.
You will.
