Một trong những dấu ấn văn hóa và lịch sử thường gặp nhất bạn có thể bắt gặp trong thiết kế của Hotel Indigo Saigon The City chính là các "louvre" - cửa lá sách. Được du nhập vào Việt Nam từ ảnh hưởng của văn hóa Pháp, cửa lá sách có một lịch sử lâu đời với ghi chép sớm nhất từ thế kỷ 14.
Cửa lá sách đã trải qua nhiều sự dịch chuyển công năng tại quê nhà lục địa già, từ ô thoát khói ở bếp, vòm tháp chuông, đến biến thể "jalousie" (cửa chớp) là kiến trúc nghệ thuật của nước Pháp. One of the design features that explorers can easily spot at Hotel Indigo Saigon The City are the "louvres". Brought into the architecture genes of Vietnam since the French-Indochine days, the louvres' history dated as early as the 14th century.

Throughout the passage of time, the louvres have undergone many applications from a gap for smoke by the stoves, a dorm for the bell tower to let out its chime, to being a French iconic design with the "jalousie" variation. The louvres found an unexpected fond reception in Vietnam where they help shelter the interior from harsh direct sunlight and let through cool flows of wind amidst a hot Summer noon.
