Hello everyone. My name is Sinh, I come from to Sapa district of Vietnam and I am a local tour guide in Sapa, I often have treks 1 day,2days,3 days and 4 days around the villages of Sapa.
Today! I’m going to share to you a small village called Ta Van.
Ta Van village is home of almost the Giay people and some Hmong families, not many. but it is exception.
If you want to get there, you can go by car, motorbike or trekking from to Sapa town.
With the car or motorbike, it takes you 30 minutes on 7km, and trekking is around 5 hours/15km.
by car, motorbike or bicycle about 7 km/30 minutes and walk about 15 km/5 hours. The local people here they are farmers and go working on the rice fields whole year to plant corn, to raise livestock. every year to do rice fields, corn fields and feed livestock. If you come here in September or October, you will have the opportunity to see the local people harvesting on the rice fields and you can participate those activities with them if you like. Giay minority group’s culture is fished and they would like to live near in the river for fishing and somewhere is flat.
The Giay people are very strong at fishing, therefore (so that) they like living near to the rivers or in the lower regions.
GO DOING SOMETHING => Go playing football.
If you have overnight in the Giay’s homestay, you will be see the local people here. They are go to fishing very early in the morning around 4:00 or 5:00 AM, like that and in the morning and you can will be hear to the rooter crowing, it will kindly let you know the time to get up, but if you don’t like getting up at that time, you still sleep more sleeping.
If you stay in their homestay, you will experience the daily life with them right together in their traditional house. You can go fishing with them very early in the morning at 4:00 or 5:00 AM and hear the rooster crowing, this kindly let you know the time to get up. Anyway, if you don’t want to get up too early, you can still stay on the bed.
Amazing Giay’s culture in the new year in this village. Ta Van organization new year every year when that had many the villages around the Sapa tow they come here to participate, when that all of the local youngs or olds they are wear a new clothe to go the there, that time you will be discover all of culture of Giay minority in the new year like push rod,catch goats, run to take the flag, beaten the drum act.
