The first Hood to Hood Ride (RTTA/SCTA) was a success yesterday!
There were equines of all shapes and sizes. Great day, perfect weather and a fantastic way to meet neighbors and share good food.

Many thanks go to both venues and volunteers:

Monica Quarmby for the idea and coordinating and working at all things to 'herd the cats'.
Susan and Eric from Timber Ridge Camp for starting location parking and shuttle trailer driving.
Karen and Jay from Buck Run Camp for hosting the lunch venue.
Francine Melfi for planning, photography, and horse wrangling.
Jeff Epperson for use of his grill and his chef talents on the hot dogs, burgers, and wings.
Marilyn Spoon who donated snacks and manned the SCTA T-shirt sales with Margaret Baznik Sanders (SCTA President).
Scott Collins for set up, high lines and tents.
Laurie Leroy for maps tables highlines.
Greg Kapanowski for set up and trailer shuttle driving
Sandy Widdis Phillips with her grandson
Dee Dee Deluca and her neice
Glenn Brown
Leo Lembitz
Please forgive us if we missed anyone, there was a ton of help and we appreciate it all!

Last but certainly not least, a big thank you goes to Ag1 Co-op in Livingston for sponsoring food and snacks, and for bringing a livestock scale and bunches of educational material to share! They regularly deliver feed to both neighborhoods and it was a pleasure having them here!

Thanks to Francine for taking better pics than we did, so we stole some! 🤣

Just down the road from us! If you need a break from riding, this park has great hiking and kayaking under the arch is a real treat!

In Tennessee, "Arch Lake" is one of the most stunning places in the state! Tucked inside Pickett CCC Memorial State Park, this quiet spot is known for its natural stone arch that stretches right over the lake. One of the best things you can do here is get out on the water and paddle a kayak or canoe straight under that rock bridge, which is something you won’t forget. The park covers over 19,000 acres and is full of rough land, tall sandstone cliffs, caves, and more natural arches hidden along the way. There are around 50 miles of trails, and many of them lead you to overlooks, rock shelters, and quiet forest paths. At night, this park really stands out. It’s a certified dark sky park, so on a clear night you can see thousands of stars. It also connects to Pickett State Forest and Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area giving you even more room to explore this incredible natural area in TN!

We updated the septic site drop. We dug down around the pipe, cut off a foot+ worth, and put on a different cap. If you've used this site and found it a bit difficult, hopefully this will be much better!
