Located in the beautiful 'Vallée de la Gartempe' our holiday gite is in fact the converted donkey stable adjoining our 'Maison de Maitre' type of farmhouse. No longer a 'working' farm, nevertheless, part of the attraction of the place is a small menagerie of sheep, donkeys, chickens, ducks and geese that will form part of your surroundings when staying here. The self-catering gite would suit a fa
mily or couple and a cot for an infant could be placed in either of the two bedrooms if needed. The kitchen dining table can comfortably seat six. The other rooms are reached by an open stair case. The comfortable living room has satellite TV with most UK and French freesat channels, a DVD player and free wifi internet access. A fireplace can be lit for comfort early or late in the season as well as the Rayburn kitchen range feeding upstairs radiators during the winter season. There are two bedrooms. A futon in the living can be converted to a third sleeping place if required. One of the bedrooms has an en suite bathroom. This would have to be shared with the other gite occupants. A cot and high chair for an infant can be provided on request. A large paddling pool and Bar-B-Q is provided along with several outdoor and indoor games to keep both adults and kids entertained. Offsite activities that can be pursued are canoeing kayaking, fishing, walking and cycling and visiting the surrounding medieval towns of Montmorillon, Bellac and Le Dorat. A little further afield the tourist attractions of ‘Futuroscope’, La planète des Crocodiles, La Vallée des Singes, L'île aux serpents, etc. are all interesting days out for kids within reasonable driving distance.
