Coffee around Mount Rainier isn’t just about the drink, it’s about where you’re standing when you take that first sip.

In Elbe, it might be coffee and cones at Elbe Market with Bigfoot nearby. In Packwood, it’s Mountain Goat Coffee with elk sometimes wandering through town like they own the place. In Buckley, Anchor House Coffee feels like a true local stop before heading toward the mountain. In Enumclaw, The Dusty Shelf blends great coffee with a small-town bookshop you can easily lose time in.

Inside the park, it’s a different kind of moment—sitting on the porch at the National Park Inn with a cup of coffee and the mountain right in front of you. Or in Ashford, a latte at the Whittaker Bunkhouse Café before heading deeper into the forest.

Or swinging by Gypsy Wagon coffee in Eatonville and grabbing a cup to go and then watching the sun come up at the Tahoma Ridge cottage. And sometimes, it’s even simpler than that. The ongoing rehabilitation of the Ohanapecosh Campground will continue to require a full closure of the campground, visitor center and all public services through the 2026 camping season. The site is expected to reopen by November 2026. Funded in part by the Great American Outdoors Act's Legacy Restoration Fund, the project includes the rehabilitation of 185 campsites and 9 comfort stations, replacement of wastewater collection system, upgrades to electrical and water systems, road repairs, and accessibility improvements.

The Ohanapecosh Visitor Center, day use parking, amphitheater, restrooms, trailhead access, and Ohanapecosh River access in the campground are also all closed to the public through November 2026. There is no recreational access at any time to Ohanapecosh Campground while it remains closed.
