We are extremely proud of Lwazi Nzimande. He has achieved great things against all odds. Lwazi started as a pupil at Barnato Park in 2010, and very soon went to the top of his class. He showed particular promise in Mathematics. On reaching Grade 10, he was invited to attend the St John’s Academy in the afternoons together with 23 of his peers.
In 2014, Lwazi passed Grade 12 with 6 distinctions, achieving 98% in Mathematics and 95% in Physical Science. In 2015 he accepted a bursary to study at St John’s College and entered for CIE A-Levels in Maths, Further Maths and Physics. He is one of our top achievers in the Sixth Form for 2015 having attained an overall average of 88%: he achieved 83% for Further Maths and 90% for both Maths and Physics. These are remarkable results!
Lwazi has spent most of his teenage life in a safe house, with very little family support. He shows remarkable self-discipline and has an incredible work ethic.
Lwazi has been admitted into the Actuarial Science Faculty at Wits University, and we wish him all the best with his future studies.
