Even more progress continues.
After many years of working throughout the winter months, it's still shocking how much can be done. Granted, a Fall like this was incredible, weather-wise so yeah, improvements were predictable.

This little oasis in Nature does reward our efforts too. The river is so clean and interesting, the trees are in fricken heaven and anything you plant just grows! The soil is fertile, the drainage is amazing and we feel like being 300 miles North in the middle of no-where.
Winter always resests things because it's so peaceful and quiet out here, it's just me and a couple of others who help out.
The two fantastic sites on the shoreline are basically done and if I had the skill and energy I would post the new pics of them. It took great effort but the results were even better than expected. 'Someone' is going to luck out and discover this place and those sites and not quite be able to explain how lucky there were. There are also two other sites that we are working on and they are also quite incredible. In addition, the other available sites are fully primed and excellent for new Campers.
Once again, because this must be repeated each and every post. If you are not a good person and find it difficult to get-along with others, then don't even consider this place. We figure out the lunatics quickly and most times, long before they cause issues. If you are a nice person, with a nice family perhaps, no huge issues in your life and especially... no drama, then come check us out.

I'm very busy but also willing to show off this Park to interested Campers, even at this time of year. An appointment is 100% required, no exceptions.
Anyhow, me and my fellow campers are always interested in meeting new 'nice' people. The clown show of campers here, are especially good people, IMHO. Yes, I do have my moments of frustration regarding some things.... BUT.... I kind of like them.

Hello everyone,
If you follow this page you already know how bad I am at posting and promoting this Campground. But after chatting with someone on the phone just now and also 'showing' the Park to a nice couple today it hit me. My lack of ability in advertising this place should not negatively affect someone seeking a great place to Camp.

There are some available sites here, for 2025, that would blow your mind. Not even taking into account our extremely reasonable fee structure, these sites are magnificent. In addition, we simply don't tolerate people who are not... good people. It's a guarantee that your neighbours will be at least, decent people. You may disagree about politics or something else but morally speaking, you will be in sync.
There is a zero tolerance policy here for bad people. Scumbags, drunken fools, druggies, idiots by any measure.... won't last a week here. Good-bye, see you later, close the gate when you leave, haha.
But honestly, no one here now, wants that kind of BS. Follow our Rules and reap the benefits. Don't follow our common-sense rules and you will not be missed when you leave.

Anyhow, come visit if you are looking for a simple, great little Campground, after making an appointment and it just might be the best decision you ever made for a recreational vacation spot. Later,

Already, it seems Campers are on the lookout for campgrounds for next season. It's not a bad philosophy to get a head start on things. Come look at Ponderosa Campground if you are looking for a great campground that is peaceful before the available sites disappear. We have some shockingly good sites available, beyond belief actually and as always, at a great price.
If you and your family are good people then come take a look at this Park. (prior appointments required, so don't just show up).
Here are our exclusions, lol. People who are Karens or Kens, in other words, entitled, self-righteous people who aren't worth dealing with. People who are bad pet owners. Campers who can't make the minimum effort to care for their site. ANY person lacking respect and consideration for others. If you are none of the above and seeking a superb little campground, come check us out.
Anyhow, this little gem in the middle of SW Ontario has sites available so come take a look it might be the best decision of your life. Perhaps this Campground is suitable for you and you are suitable for this Campground.

We need good tent campers. Our sites are amazing but under used. Forty bucks a night, on the river, huge sites. Not a party place at all, not tolerated actually but probably the best tent camp sites within a 200 mile radius.

10 year trailer age for new campers is the limit.
And again, zero tolerance for bad campers.

A couple of new points. Our sports pad is now in action so if you are into pickleball, badminton or b-ball, have a go at it. And secondly, Ponderosa now accepts BTC(bitcoin) as payment with the much added bonus of a 15% reduction in fees.
Damn, it's pretty out here right now. At this time of year? that is amazing.

Greetings. Thought I should advertise our tent camping area since it is spectacular. It's different from most tent camping spots for sure and it probably wouldn't be suitable for some people but for others it would be their perfect get-a-way.
We only have 5 sites and that is because the area is intended to be quiet and a Nature spot on the river. The river is the Middle Thames RIver with an A1 rating (hard to find in this region any more, sad to say). The sites are true tent camping, yet with the luxury of a Rec Hall with washrooms, showers, ice, games etc if required. A short 3 to 4 minute walk from the tenting area would be my guess.
No annoying critters such as raccoons, provided you don't leave any food out. The pests have learned that their survival and happiness depends on them remaining on the other side of the river, lol.
It's a bit different tenting camp compared to the large corporate campgrounds in that you can't leave your vehicles on your tent site. Your vehicle must be parked on the other side of the large pond. In other words, you get to unload all your stuff by driving to one of the tent sites but then you only drive back when it's time to leave. The vehicle parking is very close and secure too.
There is no hydro other than a couple of outlets to charge phones or pump up a mattress. Water is available in the RV section or Rec Hall.
It's not a 'party' spot. Unlike in my youth, no excessive noise is allowed and obnoxious or crazy behaviour is not tolerated. But if you want THE MOST peaceful place within 500 miles to pitch your tent, then this is the spot for you. AND, it's only $35 a night, cash or etransfer.
I'll attach some photos for you to see. These sites are underused because I don't advertise them, nor do we accept party animals, lol. It's quite possible you could be the only people there on a given night.
Quiet, amazingly beautiful, true tenting camping that is affordable... actually exists here.

I'll post photos of the available sites with relevant comments about them.
Trailer age 10 years or less. If you are a disrespectful or obnoxious person, don't bother because you won't last a month here. If you are into Nature, chilling out and being a good camping neighbour, this is the place for you.
We are very cost effective, especially by comparison to the vast majority of other campgrounds. We don't have a pool, or mini-putt or other such things so if that is your idea of camping there are lots of alternatives nearby.
We have, IMHO, the best bunch of campers already assembled here so we are quite protective when it comes to offering sites to newbies. This is not the campground for people who do not have a permanent address, in other words, a home. No offence to anyone but campers coming for one season don't generally look after their sites or sometimes even interact with other campers that much. We are already a family of campers out here and our goal is to keep it that way.
