Life around camp these days:

The father-son duo, Patrick Mackey (Bib 3, son) with 10 dogs, and Jason Mackey (Bib 1, father) with 13 dogs, are signed out of the Yukon River Bridge Checkpoint at 04:58 after their 24-hour layover! The guys and their dogs had a well earned rest and are on their way to the next checkpoint, Rampart, approximately 56 miles down the Yukon River. All Teams have officially reached one of the toughest parts of the trail—if not the toughest—Eagle Summit and Rosebud Summit. Eagle Summit is notorious for extreme weather, high winds, and whiteouts that can reduce visibility substantially. Rosebud Summit is a long, steep climb often plagued by overflow and ice. Together, they demand smart decision-making and the ability to adapt under harsh, unpredictable conditions. Check out their elevation gain in the photo below. 🏔️🐕
