Immerse yourself in the splendor of Eagles Ridge Country House, an exquisite rustic forest sanctuary nestled in the heart of the Amathola Mountains, just outside Stutterheim, in the Eastern Cape. Discover lush gardens, and unwind in the natural swimming pool also called an eco-pool, choosing not to use chemicals to manage water quality; this sustainable, ecologically balanced concept integrates se

amlessly with the environment, offering swimmers a chemical-free, nature-immersed experience amid koi fish making it a landscape-blending pool. You can also hike to and explore the nearby indigenous forest with majestic gushing waterfalls. Our offering includes eight twin/double rondavels and three hotel suites, of which one features a large honeymoon suite complete with a lounge, fireplace, and private balcony. We have a common dining area with beautiful artistic mosaic floors, and a cozy indoor braai area, complete with a lounge filled with books for your perusal. Please note our property does not have TV facilities as we pride ourselves on being recognised as a "forest sanctuary". Breakfast (full English or Continental) is available on request of your booking at an extra cost. (We do not offer lunch or dinner from our kitchens unless this is prearranged at the time of your booking). A self-catering fully equipped common area kitchen with a gas stove and all basic appliances is available for your use. Our property does not have an electricity backup for guests during load-shedding or electricity outages. We prefer to keep it simple and embrace nature when we dont have electricity. There are candles provided in each room. Experience this truly magical getaway with breathtaking views of the mountains, ideal for out-of-the-city getaways, social gatherings, retreats (please enquire about dates), and special occasions such as weddings etc.

Beautiful setting, accommodation clean, room big, food great, owners very friendly.
The location just near the forest was worth a stay. The beautiful garden with the natural swimming pool was very inviting. You can relax in the garden or take a hike in the forest. Or if you stay a few days, you can visit Thomas Rivier, a historic little village in the middle of nowhere. They are very interested and friendly people. They love to share stories. We had a great supper in the original kitchen, full of antiques. Next time we will stay at least 3 nights. Two friendly dogs were aside.
