At Shammah interesting things happen. Yellow Peaches is a favorite for our local sheep, the Dorper Sheep. There is a real competition who get the most of this peaches. They literally will climb as high as they can get into the trees to get to these fruit. I helped a little by picking the fruit and leave it on the ground. In the beginning there were two wise ewes who feasted along but when the rest of the herd discovered this date they were all over me! I had to flee because they were all over me for peaches.
This dependence of these sheep who silently beg me for peaches reminded me of Luke 11:9-13 (Amplified)
So I say to you, Ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you.
For everyone who asks and keeps on asking receives; and he who seeks and keeps on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened.
What father among you, if his son asks for a loaf of bread, will give him a stone; or if he asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent?
If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him!

Ons Josh-kind het 'n nuwe woning en 'n nuwe mamma gekry in Bethlehem. Baie dankie vir Denise wat bereid was om hom te neem. Josh het die skape bietjie aangekeer en gekeer dat hulle eet! Die dieët het nie goed gewerk vir die skape nie toe moes ons maar plan maak. Josh se ander naam was Hodini- bedoelende dat hy gate onder deur die heinings gegrawe het en 'n hek geklim het dat dit lyk of dit 'n leer is!!! Niks kon ons Josh binne hou nie. Maar sy nuwe huis is Josh-proof! Dankie vir dit. Ons het intussen nuwe baba hondjies gekry, Hulle gaan nog so 3 weke by ons wees dan gaan hulle ook na nuwe huise toe. Die hoenders is intussen ook geskuif na hulle groot nuwe huis en die honde het hulle hok terug!

There's something cooking at Shammah! The chickens stay in the dogs pen and the dogs think they are in heaven in the swimming pool. It is so hot and all there is to do is to take a dip in the swimming pool!!! Josh and Bella love the water and company!!! The bright side of this heatwave is that we can swim.

When the Lord told us to name our guest farm Shammah, He promised to never leave nor forsake us, as the Bible confirmed this. I experienced this truth in this extreme drought, when we were in the fields among the cattle. Although the ground is a dry powder and cracked, there is still grass that defies all logic, although the dams are dry ad full of cracks, the field animals still live. God is still in control and still the God who saves and keep us. Thank You Lord for Shammah, Your promise that You will always be there for us.
