Rode along the canal from the town of Augrabies to Jaap-se-Tuin this morning. Such a lovely trip. We saw a monitor lizard (Leguan), a yellow mongoose, and several ground squirrels in addition to all the birds. Join me for the 16km ride if you'd like to learn a little more about vineyard irrigation and the canal system.

The weather was lekker cool because we ride early, but if you zoom in on the photo, you'll see all the miggies! I used Peaceful Sleep before leaving the house, yet they were still flying in a cloud around me the entire time.

If you're planning to visit Augrabies or Riemvasmaak right now, bring repellent, citronella candles, bug paddles, and lights.

Spent a wonderful day showing a group of Belgians the very special Quiver Tree Forest at Liefdood Campsite, part of the Quiver Tree Route - Northern Cape - South Africa. We all thoroughly enjoyed the day! Thank you, Jan, for booking the tour; thank you Serieta, for letting us visit your beautiful hidden gem and letting Johan drive us as a group; and thank you, Oma Miemie's Farmstall - Kenhardt for a delicious meal before heading back.

Marina’s love for indigenous plants shines through in everything she does. Her passion for preserving our protected flora for future generations is matched by her willingness to share her knowledge. She always has time to educate visitors, share a story and showcase the incredible natural beauty of our indigenous plant species.
