The old Victorian hotel, which for many years stood in ruin, has been lovingly restored and upgraded. 21 comfortable en-suite rooms and three suites have been created, some within the original old stone walls. In the traditional wing the worn old wooden floors bare testament to the history of the building

and wherever possible as much of the old has been retained to enhance the new. Courtyard dining, a rose garden and 20-metre swimming pool make The Duke a unique venue in the heart of the Eastern Cape
