This Women’s Day, we celebrate two special women who help keep Disakloof running with care, dedication and heart.

💐 Yolandi, who handles our bookings, is often the first point of contact for guests, groups and families planning their stay. Her friendly assistance and attention to detail help make every booking feel personal and welcoming.

💐 Elize, our Assistant Manager, plays an important role in the day-to-day care of the campsite, helping to ensure that guests experience the peaceful, well-maintained and welcoming environment that Disakloof is known for.

🌿 The Heart Behind Disakloof 🌿

Disakloof has always been about more than camping.

During the 1970s, 14 Dutch Reformed congregations came together to purchase the Cascades Campsite in Betty’s Bay, situated next to the Harold Porter Nature Reserve. Their vision was simple but meaningful: to create an affordable place where young people could camp, grow, connect and experience something uplifting.

Over time, the campsite was transferred to a non-profit company, Disakloof Jeugmaatskappy.

Today, that original heart remains.

Our vision is to provide uplifting and recreational opportunities for the youth in our catchment areas — with a special focus on young people from less privileged communities in the Western Cape.

We aim to offer a high-quality, cost-effective campsite supported by friendly, caring staff and a peaceful natural environment.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who spent part of the July winter holidays with us at Disakloof.

It was a joy to welcome families, campers, groups and young adventurers to our peaceful corner of Betty’s Bay. From chilly mornings and outdoor fun to campfire moments, laughter and time spent together in nature — we are grateful for every memory made on our grounds.
