Bayswater Lodge Bayswater Lodge is a 4 star guest house situated in a northern suburb of Bloemfontein. These must be arranged prior to arrival.

Come and enjoy our beautiful garden, thatched lapa with braai area, swimming pool and have a good nights rest in 1 of our 13 en suite comfortable bedrooms Bayswater Lodge is easily accessible from all major routes, and is a short drive to the city center or airport. A shuttle service can be arranged for collection or drop off from your destination. We offer breakfast everyday, and lunch packs and

dinner during weekdays should a guest request it. Each of our rooms comes standard with a DSTV Hotel package, aircon, Tea/Coffee station, mini fridge and Free Wifi. There are also a few rooms with a balcony for any smokers, as all our rooms are non smoking. There is a lapa that comes with BBQ facilities, as well as an outdoor pool for those warm summer days. A fully licensed bar with pool table and dart board can also provide a nice break from a long and busy day.

Whenever anyone plans a holiday to a new destination, the first step is to go on Google and check popular sites like Booking.com or Lekkeslaap. These websites are easy to work with and normally list a lot of accommodation options which can help you choose a place that suits your budget or location. Alternatively, you can check which places pop up in the search and make a booking directly with the accommodation establishment. Dealing directly can also be cheaper as no commission is involved, and you can notify the staff about any requirements such as dietary restrictions. Just remember that any extras you add on such as meals, an extra person or extra night needs to be communicated to reception and settled before departure. The popular misconception is that Bloemfontein doesn't have much in way of attractions, and is treated as a 1 night stay by most travelers. Although this may be true with regards to things like oceans and mountains, Bloemfontein does have its own charm. There are several museums, a well maintained botanical garden, a nature reserve on top of a hill and an art gallery to name but a few places worth checking out. Bloemfontein also hosts several festivals and sports events throughout the year, so make sure to keep an eye out for any events that grabs your attention. The owners and staff of Bayswater Lodge would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a great New Year. Thank you for all the support you have provided us throughout 2025. For those going away this holiday period, safe travels and enjoy the time away from work. For those who are staying home, put your legs up and relax those weary feet. Need a place to rest but the budget is a bit tight? Bayswater Lodge is offering a special whereby we charge our single person Room Only rate for 2 people in a room from 20 December to 10 January 2026. We also offer a cooked English breakfast each morning for R150 per person. Although we won't be offering dinners for this period, we are located 1 minute away from Bayswater Shopping Center which has several takeaway and sit down choices. As another year starts coming to an end, everyone is starting to get ready to close shop and prepare for a well deserved break. This year has had several high points, one of which is Bayswater Lodge getting solar power so that the guest house will never be without electricity. We are also having a much milder summer compared to last year, so this in itself is a welcome blessing. Bayswater Lodge will be open during the Dec/Jan holidays, however we will be closed on 24 and 25 December. The end of the year is quickly approaching and many businesses are in the process of getting all their training and last orders for the year finished. Although we no longer host functions, we have had the pleasure of hosting several groups coming to Bloemfontein for events or gatherings. Our braai facilities are open for our in house guests, and with the warm weather we are having in Bloemfontein, make sure to bring your costume for a dip in the pool. Bloemfontein is known for many things. We are called the conference city as so many companies come here for training and seminars. We are known for our rich history and many museums located throughout the city. But what we are probably most famous for is our weather. Winter here can often vary from a mild cool evening to mornings where it is so cold you actually wonder if your job is worth getting up for. We recommend that anyone traveling to Bloemfontein to check their weather service prior to leaving home and prepare accordingly. All our rooms have electric blankets, winter blankets and aircon, so we will make sure that you have a comfortable stay with us. Bloemfontein is starting to get busy with sports tournaments and conferences, and this always makes finding accommodation a challenge. We get plenty of calls from parents, conference goers or sports fans on the day of their event and although we try our best to accommodate these requests, we have to work on a first come first serve basis. To avoid these problems, we always advise people to make a reservation the moment they know they need to travel. Although this isn't always a possibility, it does help give you a peace of mind to know you are booked at an accommodation. With our summers getting hotter and the rain falling irregular, we need to appreciate days where we can watch the rain fall and see our gardens turn a lush green again. This summer has been a brutal one for the Free State, and we hope that the rains continue for a long time. Sometimes it is not just the garden that turns green, but also the swimming pool. This can be irritating at most times, but a few cups of Chlorine and a backwash or 2 later and the pool will be good to go. The swimming pool at Bayswater Lodge will remain open till end of March for our in house guests, so make sure to bring your swimming costume should you need a refreshing dip after a long hard day. While dipping your feet into the pool, you are more than welcome to use the braai area to prepare a nice lunch or dinner.
