So a huge welcome to 2026 and may it be spectacular for our country and it's people. Covid has definitely left its economic mark so we are pleased to announce we are keeping our 2025 accommodation rates for the next 6 months. (They were already great value) Food costs are crazy so for the first time in about a decade we have increased our breakfasts to R120 ppd.
For the month of January we are offering pensioners a 2 day getaway discount of 10% on the accommodation only. Breakfast remains the same but it is optional.

Finally some sunshine today and the air and sky is so clear we can see the sea and the ships waiting to come into Durban. Amazing I know. We have had a fairly quiet Xmas but hosted 2 small functions and we're super excited to see 2 of our regulars from the Cape Mel and David, thanks for the wine!! We enjoyed showing them around the new Westown development which is really worth a visit whilst in our area. So enjoy the pics, we are gearing up for New Year and so looking forward to hosting our regulars from Holland who are bringing the whole family to stay. Can't wait.
We also met some amazing new guests this season whom we hope will become regulars during 2026.

Bees decided to make their home in one of the pots outside Tyne Cottage. Whilst we try and live with the wild life as much as possible, due to the close proximity of the cottage we made the decision to move them so they would not be a problem for our guests. We really wanted to move them to the bottom of our 2 acre garden but this proved more difficult than first anticipated. They moved the Queen and settled in the bottle brush for a couple of days giving us a chance to seal the pot. They then left to find a new home leaving behind the most amazing honey. Absolutely clean, beautiful colour and the flavor was amazing. According to the bee professional it is because of our magnificent Plane trees. It is really a privilege to experience and enjoy all this great area of ours has to offer.

And so Christmas and New Year are approaching at a rapid rate. I love this time of year. Our garden is beautiful and green. Putting up the Christmas tree and fairy lights is one of my most favourite things. The local markets are starting to sell all their Christmassy things ideal for gifts. Remember not to drink and drive while attending year end parties, conside booking into Lindisfarne B&B as our rates are very affordable.

This time of the year is spectacular for bird watchers. The Weavers are nesting, the Juvenile Eagle owls are learning to fly, Egyptian geese have goslings. We are also seeing Crowned Eagles, YBK's, Woolie neck storks
Kingfisher, Sunbird, Purple crested Loerie to mention a few. Not to mention the Monkeys with their babies. Note the white monkey a rare sight indeed.
Here at Lindisfarne we try to coexist with all the wildlife we are privileged to share our property with.
