🐴🐂🐶🐱For those of you who don't know...our farm animals are our beloved family (some would argue we are merely staff)! During your stay you will surely be visited by Silki (maybe Floki, although he is busy full time cat management)...and definitely Rusky (his default position is upside down)...and perhaps even one of our 8 kitties!
We have 9 horses, 3 donkeys and 12 Nguni on the farm too..you'll definitely see them all too!.
💛When we read through our guest books in the cottages probably the most written thing is how much everyone especially the kids loved meeting Silki!😍.

🌿Spring Frog Mountain Getaway & Nature Sanctuary
Warmth arriving in our mountains - a little update from us the family that own and look after this special place:.
🍂After a really strange, rainfree, not terribly cold winter (apart from the crazy hurricane storm that brought floods to the Breede and knocked down trees a few months ago)...and of course the loss of our 2 beloved doggies which really broke us💔..it seems that spring is beginning to arrive. Our favourite blossoms are out! The Keurtjie and Fonteinbos!(Smells like Chappies bubblegum in the house)..
I see that we have almost 10,000 followers on our page. 🫣😍! WHAT?! I can't quite fathom that!? 🤔😬
To all of you wonderful nature loving people who have joined this page...and support us...WELCOME and THANK YOU!!!💚🐸🌿.
🌿You are following the account of a small family that did the crazy thing 7 years ago, decided to pack up and move away from the city, to a farm! I think somewhere we thought life would be simpler! Haha! 🙈🤪
Learning to manage/run a guest farm with 6 self-catering cottages (we can sleep 45 in total), renovate, maintain, fix, upgrade, protect and manage the land, the infrastructure, plus all the admin, staff, the bookings, platforms, social media and of course looking after our amazing furry family members....it's been a helluva ride so far!.
🌿Posting is very much linked to my own inner sense of creativity and joy...joy in sharing the realness and beauty of this special place with all of you! We don't have a social media marketer or professional photographers..it's just me, an iPhone and the beauty of nature and the farm (you can't really go wrong)☺️.
Dealing with loss of our beloveds bringing so much sadness, plus peri menopause and life...definitely cut me off from my joy and I felt less inclined to share or post...I am sure many can relate! Today I decided to share at least That!.
🌿Yesterday we went for a walk to the waterfall (first time since Goldie died) and even had an icy swim! We were captivated by the blossoms while Floki was captivated by Poppy! Silki and Rusky stayed at home and got cuddled when we were back! We are blessed!.

💚🌿🐄"Hi! I’m Isizwe.....🐄🌿💚.
I am Frog Mountain’s famous resident free-range showjumping Nguni. You'll notice I'm extremely beautiful with an unmistakable heart on my forehead. 💚
Some people say I like to escape! I prefer to think of it as expanding my grazing opportunities, while practicing my jumping technique.

Also, honestly sometimes a girl just needs a little peace and quiet away from those bossy ladies! Starry Night, Daisy and Black Beauty can be VERY opinionated..🙄

🌿You may spot me outside your cottage, trimming your lawn, inspecting your braai, or taking a sip from your hot tub. Please don’t worry!
I’m not a bull, (we Nguni ladies grow world class horns too). I definitely don’t need rescuing, and there is no need to phone the owners in a panic. 😂.
🐄I also like to keep the visiting dogs on their toes with the occasional mock chase. Dog enrichment is just one of the many complimentary experiences included at Frog Mountain free of charge. .
If you’d rather I continue my neighbourhood patrol elsewhere, simply walk calmly behind me and clap your hands. I’ll happily move on in search of another lawn to mow.
I'll return to the others eventually....probably."

🔥Before....and after!🐸🌿🐸

Sam's place bathroom 1...this shower has been aggravating my soul for 7 years!!! But what with all the other major urgent renovations...it quietly gnawed away at my spirit in the most debilitating way un-remedied!.😂.
Finally I couldn't take it anymore! Its transformation wasn't simple! First to lower the floor was a big thing...then the first tiler had a "tiling moment" and initial dark grout highlighted the wandering lines, but finally my soul was calmed by absurdly straight lines and white grout! The mirror is new too and ideally (thanks Chat Gpt)..but ideally needs a nice wooden frame...but we had to make do😉.
This is now a lovely walk in shower, with a mixer (yay), stunning gloss tiles and the whole shower has gone from a soul aggravating thing to one of pleasure, calm and modern beauty while somehow fitting into Sam's Place farmhouse feel.
Huge Thanks to Lloyd who made this happen..(one of those jobs that was far harder than expected) and our amazing tiler Brian who did a sterling job!.
Is this an improvement?!.
