As September comes to a close, we’re reminded why spring in the Klein Karoo is such a special time of year.

The days are a little longer.
The mornings feel lighter.
The braais move outdoors again.
The camping gear comes out.

And suddenly, there are more reasons to linger a little longer under the Karoo sky.
At Karoowater Guest Farm, September has been about fresh starts, family time, Heritage Month traditions, spring getaways and the simple pleasure of being together.

Thank you to every guest who spent part of the month with us, shared a meal, enjoyed the warm baths, camped under the trees or simply came to slow down for a while.

The annual Vetplantfees, hosted by the Calitzdorp Succulent Society, is a beautiful celebration of indigenous, rare, and remarkable succulents from South Africa and around the world.

Taking place at Calitzdorp Station from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September 2026, the festival offers visitors the chance to explore the fascinating world of succulents — from seeing rare plants in their natural habitat to buying special specimens not usually available in nurseries.

Visitors can also enjoy expert advice on how to propagate, grow, and care for succulents in their own gardens.
