Evelyne Bluemli Marinesse, born and bred in Switzerland, a trained HR professional with many years of management experience in various industries and roots in the Hospitality Industry. Jan Marinesse, Swiss and German national, grew up in Asia, graduated from EHL Hospitality Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland, with extensive experience in hospitality as well as the automotive i
ndustry and longtime quality, environmental and occupational health & safety auditor. After extensive travel to different parts of South Africa, including Evelyne's 2-month sabbatical at the Little Angels Educare Center in Hangberg, Cape Town in the summer of 2019, we decided to pack our bags, leave Switzerland and shape the next chapter of our lives in beautiful South Africa, the country that we have become so fond of. Our desire is to introduce guests and friends to this beautiful country by debunking prejudice, making them feel safe and showing them the most beautiful places in the Cape region (and perhaps the world). Our aim is to make your visit to South Africa so memorable, you'll want to come back for more...
Bluemari’s Retreat will be our home. While you stay with us, you will be part of our family. Lay back and relax and share your life experiences, thoughts and dreams with us and other like-minded people. Looking to discover the cape peninsula, experience a made-to-measure wine tasting and culinary experience in Constantia, Stellenbosh, Franschhoek, Paarl, Tulbagh or perhaps further away in Robertson, play a day or more of golf, go diving with the sharks, meet gentle whales and dolphins, observe penguins and dassies, take an unforgettable motorcycle ride to Cape Point...? You name it, we'll fix you up with the right people who will go out of their way to make your trip to the motherland an unforgettable experience. We only recommend partners that we know personally and that we have tested ourselves. And should you feel unsure in a foreign environment, we'll be right by your side to help you or even accompany you on your discovery tour of South Africa. Tired, depressed or burned out? Need some time away form life's stress? We call our home "Retreat" because we offer you a calm and safe haven from the hustle and bustle of your daily routine. One of our suites can be separated from the main house. It offers a private entrance, a spacious living/bedroom including a small kitchenette and a private outside recreatipn area. Spend time replenishing your batteries or refocus in our little home away from home, relax or join us on our daily errands in and around Cape Town. Change your angle of vision, discover the things that are important in life. Build new perspectives, give your life a new meaning. We support a number of social initiatives in the Cape Town area, including the townships of Hangberg and Imizamo Yethu in Hout Bay. We'll introduce you to the local people and let them share with you their life stories with you. Let us arrange your very personal induction into some social melting pots where surviving and making ends meet can be much of a daily struggle. Contact us for details.
