PICNICS, WALKS & THE GREAT OUTDOORS
JÉAN Restaurant & Deli at Klein Roosboom have a large deli serving salads, fresh breads, cheese platters etc, to enjoy at their tables, on the lawns or in the vineyards. They have play area and jungle gym at the tasting room side, with lawns and shady trees too. You can also take a walk through the vineyards. (Check their FB page as they're sometimes closed on weekends for private functions)

Hillcrest Quarry is open for fishing and take-your-own picnics if they don't have any concerts. There is not much shelter, but at least the kids can do something physical. Fishing is charged for, but entry and picnics are free and they have bathrooms.

Tables at Nitida have plenty of lawns to sit on, with a jungle gym.

Signal Gun's lawn area at the tasting room is available for you to sit at, whilst enjoying a build your own platter from their deli and a tasting. They have a large jungle gym and plenty of views and shady trees.

Boland, Sonstraal, and Kenridge Dams, as well as the Majik Forest are all open to the public, pet-friendly and have place to picnic. Take your own picnic. No bathrooms.

The Durbanville Rose Garden is gorgeous. You can take a stroll, and take your own picnic. There's a jungle gym, entry is free and they have bathrooms.

Tygerberg Nature Reserve is a great place to hike with your family. Take your own picnic. They charge a small entry fee and they have bathrooms.

Songbird Premuim Quality Stay includes free access to D'Aria wine farm and the Majik Forest where you can picnic, walk, run or cycle.
The Majik Forest Conservation Area is approximately 59 hectares in extent and consists of critically endangered Swartland Shale Renosterveld which is directly linked to the Tygerberg Hills.
