Klein Slangkop Beach Hideaway Escape to our 3-bedroom beach house in Klein Slangkop Eco Estate. This self catering home is 5 minutes from the beach. Pets are welcome too.

Just minutes from the beaches of Kommetjie and Noordhoek, enjoy a private pool, spacious living and the perfect coastal retreat, only 40 minutes from Cape Town. It is set in a very quiet cul de sac within an eco estate. The estate is very child friendly with a small playground 50 meters away. The house has one upstairs bedroom with a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom, one downstairs bedroom with a queen size bed and shared bathroom, and one bedroom with two single beds and shared bathroom.

A beautiful 30-minute walk along Noordhoek Beach brings you to the fascinating wreck of the SS Kakapo.
The Kakapo ran aground here on 25 May 1900 during her maiden voyage from Wales to Australia after the crew mistakenly believed they had rounded Cape Point in thick fog and stormy weather. Thankfully, everyone on board survived.
The ship was never refloated, and local legend says the captain remained aboard for a time after the wreck. Much of the ship's steel was later salvaged and used to build the retaining wall along the railway line in Fish Hoe.
The Kakapo's rusting remains are still revealed by the shifting sands a fascinating piece of Cape history and one of Noordhoek Beach's most iconic landmarks.

With Noordhoek and Kommetjie beach on your doorstep this is paradise for dogs. There are few places on earth where dogs can run this free off leash. Of course one must take care not to let them venture anywhere near the nesting Oyster Catchers. Gypsy, a ball and 5 kilometers of sea and sand.

Klein Slangkop is home to the only green corridor linking Table Mountain National Park with Cape Point. The botanical diversity is extraordinary, ranging from ancient milkwood groves that feel as though they've stepped from the pages of a Tolkien novel, to the low-growing dune olive (Olea exasperata). The surrounding fynbos is equally remarkable and includes the prostrate pincushion (Leucospermum prostratum), a species unique to this area and one of the very few proteas that forms a true groundcover.
A short walk leads to the nearby beacon, where you'll be rewarded with one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the Cape.

Kommetjie sunsets are something special. Just a short 400meters stroll, 10 minutes before sunset and the show is absolutely spectacular. Once the sun drops over the horizon stay for an hour and watch the drama unfold.
